Adyashanti uses the term ‘True Meditation” for formless meditation, in which awareness is allowed to simply rest, without being manipulated or directed in any way. Like water that becomes brilliantly clear when left still enough for any sediment contained in it to simply fall to the bottom, so also does is True Nature of awareness innately recognised by the heart as sourceless, endless, Awake Presence arising as all, when the mind is simply able to rest.
