In ancient times, magnetic centres existed all over the globe where groups of men and women gathered together to engage their awakening in community with each other, the Earth and cosmos. These were the mystery schools, and their keynote was radical awakening to Absolute Reality and evolutionary awakening to the soul depth of our being. Now, with the recently initiated cycle of Shamballa Impacts and the Externalisation of the Hierarchy, the mystery schools are being reborn in a new, updated expression.
In his work with both Alice Bailey and Bruce Lyon, Djwhal Khul taught that the work of the modern mystery schools will be radical awakening to Absolute Reality and evolutionary awakening to the monadic Life principle, and the electric will, power and purpose inherent in it. In the words of DK:
“The work of the modern day Mystery school is to plant the seeds of Will. These seeds will flower in the future as the widespread realisation of planetary soul purpose: The collective comprehension and implementation of the multi- incarnational purpose of the Earth as a conscious entity in cosmos.” (Mercury)
In his teaching, Djwhal Khul described each of the mystery schools that are to come as expressive of one of the seven ray energies, or various combinations of those energies. He described them as playing a vital role within the planetary life and acting as transmitting stations for the cosmic energies of various constellations through Shamballa and Hierarchy, and into the Earth via humanity. In this connection, he described them as grounded physical plane centres for the various ray ashrams of Hierarchy. They would of course also act as community spaces for profound training in which human beings may participate in the unfoldment of the mysteries of radical awakening and the Life principle as an awakened WE. And Djwhal Khul describes each mystery school as being affiliated with one of the global branches of Hierarchy (the Himalayan branch that many of the masters whose transmission has gone on to form the core teaching of the Trans-Himalayan tradition is understood to be but one of a number of branches – others likely being affiliated with such global regions as South America, Africa, Southern India, North America, Australasia, and Europe) and having their shared root in the One Fundamental School of planetary Life and Purpose that is Shamballa.
In these coming mystery schools of Life, those who compose them will take their attention off the development of consciousness or activity in form and place it upon the invocation of and surrender into the Life principle. In doing so, they will enter into identification with, participation in, and transmission of, the monadic purpose of Earth in the cosmos, which we have been told is to act as a reservoir and transmitter of the Life principle through the galaxy. Identification with Life speeds up our progress along the path of initiation and in engaging this work, despite the release of any focus on the expansion of consciousness and activity in form, both will burn brighter in the fire of Life, and faster.
Fundamental to the emergence of these mystery schools will be the founding of the Temple of Power on the physical plane. In the Trans-Himalayan teaching it is understood that the teaching of the Buddha established a Temple of Light that pervades the mental plane since his life, and then that of the Christ established a Temple of Love that is present on the astral plane. In the immanent future, another avatar is expected who will ground the principles of Life, Will and Purpose on the physical plane, and thus also the Temple of Power. It is this anchoring that will allow the emergence of the new mystery schools as physical centres located in particular power places of the Earth where the Life principle will be able to be anchored and transmitted from. Such centres may be located in the Egyptian desert, the South American sacred sites, the Himalayas, the ancient Celtic isles of Ireland, Wales and Scotland, or in the Australian outback, for instance.
As a result of the work undertaken within the schools, we can expect the greater and greater impact of the Life principle on humanity to bring in the power necessary to shift the most entrenched patters of selfishness and self-centredness that govern our present civilisation. As more and more human beings pass through these schools and become initiates and masters, we can expect the emergence of the mysteries of initiation into open human recognition as a key feature of the Externalisation of Hierarchy. And through the work of such schools, we can expect the channel of transmission of Earth’s monadic purpose into and through the planetary field to thicken, bringing about the fuller and fuller emergence into human consciousness of the sacred Purpose of the Earth in the cosmos.
